Temple Running
This week I had the opportunity to write a demo for a Nickelodeon made-for-TV feature film. Though I did not end up getting the job, I walked away with over 5 minutes of bad ass orchestral action music with live voice, percussion, and ethnic winds. To get this done, I went back to my roots and wrote the entire cue in full score using Sibelius. I then worked with my friend and respected colleague Kenny Wood to bring my score to life. It took all the pressure of production off of me and allowed me to focus on writing in the way that is most comfortable for me. I haven’t been this exhilarated to write music in quite some time. Of course it would have been nice to get the job, but I am happy to discover a new process and look forward to expand upon it in the coming months.
